Sydney Playing the Piano

Sydney likes to tinker on the piano occasionally. She knows not to bang but to use her fingers when she plays. I love the smile she gives at the end of the video.

Sorry it has been so long since I've posted. I've been a little preoccupied. :)
In November, Sydney and I were able to go to Louisville and stay with our friends, the Burtches. We took a day and went to the zoo with Elijah and Jennifer. Because it was off-season, there wasn't a lot of people there, which made it nice. Elijah and Sydney got along great! They really liked the petting zoo and the swings.

Talking to the Fish

On the same trip, we went to a restuarant in Nashville where there was a little coi pond. Sydney liked the bridge over it very much.

Singing Her Favorite Sunday School Song

Sydney enjoys singing her Sunday School songs. This was during one of our trips this summer. I don't think I have posted it yet.

This is later on the trip. Tired out...

Steve and Sydney figured out that if they threw the ball up the stairs, it would bounce back. She loves playing this. This afternoon she asked Steve to play ball and told him to lay down on the floor. She remembers every detail of playing with daddy.

Fun at the Park With Cousins!!

We had fun the other day with Aunt Sherry, Clay, and Emma. The kids were plenty tired by time we left.

Steve's New Toy

Since the blog is called Sydney AND her family, I thought I'd post Steve's latest toy. He's very excited about it, since he's been wanting one for two years now. And best of all, God provided it for absolutely FREE! Yay!!! Isn't it pretty? Thank you, God, for our piano. I think I see piano lessons in Sydney's future (maybe taught by daddy)!

Birthday Pics!!

Blow out your candle Sydney! Steve and I had to help. :)
Uncle Bill gave her a sit-n-spin. She's still trying to get a hang of it, but she will soon.

Steve blew up the pool for the kids to swim in. It got a hole in the top and even though Steve patched it, it wanted to lean. The kids didn't mind though. They played in that water for a good 45 minutes or so. Emma was in there with them for awhile too.
Sydney really liked opening up her gifts this year. It's neat to see the difference in just one year. She just sat in my lap last year and let me open the gifts. She's so different already! I love my two-year old, while at the same time, I miss my one-year old. I'm so blessed to be able to see her in all these stages. I've loved everyone of them!
Opening her gift from Aunt Sherry, Uncle Kevin, Clay, & Emma. It's a play vacuum cleaner (a.k.a. sweeper!).

Happy 2nd Birthday Sydney!

We had a weekend of parties for our now 2-year old Sydney! What fun times they were. As you can see, it was a Cookie Monster theme. She loves Cookie Monster. I had in mind to make a REALLY cute cake for her, and, had it worked out, it would have been. Unfortunetly, the leg and then the head decided to fall off---several times. It left a not-so-great looking cake, but it tasted good! Since that didn't work out, I went with cupcakes that came out pretty cute.

Steve and I wanted to match our Cookie Monster so we all had on Monster shirts (Sydney has on one too even though you can't see it). I think that is probably the last time I'll see Steve in the shirt. ha!!
I will post even more pictures of the parties tomorrow, hopefully.

Praying With Daddy

I don't think I've seen anything more heartwarming than this. Sydney and Daddy got her prayer book out and was praying for each of her family members. She was actually kneeling on the couch with Daddy. So sweet!!! I know God was smiling, because I couldn't stop.

Sydney's New Pool

A great friend of our gave Sydney this pool this summer. We've only gotten to swim in it once. It took me a long time to get it ready. Glad I had an air pump!

McD's Playland With the Kids

We watched Clay & Emma awhile ago, and we were able to go to McDonalds with them. Uncle Kevin came after work and joined us. They had so much fun in the Playland even though they could only play in the one small section. Even Emma wanted to join in!

Sprinkler AND Trampoline fun!

We let the girls play in the trampoline while the sprinkler got them wet. Don't worry, there was a net around the trampoline to keep them safe. Sydney loved every second of it. She didn't even mind falling down a few times.
